Welcome to BoSoxWin.com,
dedicated to providing you with information that the most die-hard Red
Sox fan can enjoy.
This season, the
Red Sox figure to be in the top tier of the American League East Division,
battling the dreaded "Evil empire" know as the New York Yankees,
as well as the up and coming Baltimore Orioles and the Toronto Jays
and Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
Interleague play
for Boston brings a "West" flavor to it as the NL West teams
battle the AL East in June and July. The San Diego Padres and the Los
Angels Dodgers visit Fenway Park for their first ever in-season series,
On the road, the Sox head to the Rockies to take on Colorado, followed
by a visit by the Bay at SBC Park to battle Barry Bonds and the San
Francisco Giants.
The BoSox welcome
some new players to the team this year to shore up the overall strength
of the club -
- Pitcher Curt
Schilling - Already led by ace Pedro Martinez, the Red Sox starting
five now has two "aces" to depend on. After a tenure in
the National League with the Phillies and the Diamondbacks, Schilling
returns to his roots, having come up to the Majors via the AL's Baltimore
Orioles.
- Closer Keith
Foulke - General manager Theo Epstein made filling this position a
top priority after last season's failed "bullpen by committee".
He couldn't have done better, signing the All Star to a mult-year
deal.
- Outfielder/DH
Ellis Burks - It's "welcome home" for the former All Star
who began his career as Boston's centerfielder in the late 1980s.
He is expected to be the team's primary designated hitter against
left handed pitching, and he'll occassionally fill in for Manny Ramirez
in left field.
2004
looks to be another banner year for New England's favorite baseball team,
and whether it's battling George Steinbrenner's Yankees, or other American
League rivals, it should be a fun season at Fenway!
If you're thinking about going to a game sometime this season, check out the Red Sox tickets at TicketsInTime. They carry a good selection and will treat you right.
So thank you for stoping in our little Red Sox corner of the Red Sox world. It may not be Fenway Park but it's the closest that we can get you for now. We hope you enjoy your visit to BoSoxWin.com. Make sure you drop by again soon as we'll be adding more information throughout the season!
